In 2017 captain Trent Hodkinson is excited to continue his 'Tren7's Kick for Kids' initiative for a second year at the nib Newcastle Knights.

Each game, Trent will dedicate his conversions to a child spending time in hospital and will write their name on his kicking tee.

They will also receive an ISC kids Knights jersey with their name on the back, their personalised kicking tee from Hodkinson, an Adidas gift pack and a voucher for Pet Resorts Australia.

Round 1

In Round 1 of the 2017 season, Trent dedicated his kicking tee to Thomas, who has been in the John Hunter Children's Hospital for more than 60 days since being diagnosed with Leukamia.

Round 2

In the Round 2 win against the Gold Coast Titans, Trent kicked for 4-year-old Max, who has had to have a brain tumour removed.

Max came and visited Trent at training with his family.

Round 3

In Round 3 Trent kicked for 13-year-old Jacinta Gomez, who has acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Jacinta visited Trent in the sheds after the game.

Round 5

In Round 5 Trent kicked for 10-year-old Kalan, who has Cystic Fibrosis.

When Trent went to visit Kalan in hospital, Kalan wasn't in his room. He had been taken to get some scans, so Trent visited him there instead!

Round 6

For the home match against the Bulldogs, Trent kicked for 6-year-old Zac Brady, who is suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

He is 18 months into treatment, and came down to the sheds to meet Trent after the game.

Round 7

In Round 7 Trent kicked for 11-year-old Jack, who has had several different health issues and has to regularly visit the John Hunter Children's Hospital pain clinic.

Round 17

In Round 17 Trent made his return to first grade against the Wests Tigers, and kicked for Austin.

Trent, along with Brock Lamb, went to John Hunter Childrens Hospital to visit Austin and his parents.

Round 18

In Round 18 Trent kicked for Josh, who unfortunately broke his leg when bush walking with his family.

Josh came and visited Trent at Knights HQ to watch a training session.

Round 19

For the home match against the Brisbane Broncos Trent kicked for JR, who is fighting brain cancer.

JR came down to the sheds with his family after the match to meet Trent.

Round 21

In the team's home win against the St George Illawarra Dragons Trent kicked for Amber, who has Neuroblastoma.

Round 22

It was another home win in Round 22, and against the Warriors Trent kicked for 7-year-old Hope.

Round 24

In Round 24 Trent kicked for 7-year-old Lachlan, who suffered a ruptured spleen when he fell out of a tree.

2016

Trent first brought his Tren7's Kick for Kids initiative to the Knights in 2016, when he kicked for 24 kids over the 24 rounds of the season.

Round 1

In Round 1 Trent dedicated his conversions to 13-year-old Tallulah Nixon. From Gloucester, Tallulah has been undergoing treatment at the John Hunter Children's Hospital.

Round 2

In the Round 2 match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs Trent dedicated his kicking tee to 9-year-old Connor. From Edgeworth, he was out of hospital soon after the match and visited Trent at a training session!

Round 3

In the Club's first home game of the 2016 season Trent dedicated his kicks to 14-year-old Hannah. She is halfway through a year of treatment at the John Hunter Children's Hospital.

Round 4

The Knights played in New Zealand for Round 4, and Trent kicked for 2-year-old Archie. From Cardiff, Archie has been in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital in Newcastle since November 2015.

Round 5

In the away game against the Melbourne Storm Trent kicked for 17-year-old Adam. Adam is a passionate Knights fan with a keen interest in video analysis and strategy.

Round 6

In the Club's Voice for Mining Day win Trent kicked for Ellen from Thornton. She came into the sheds after the game to receive her gifts and congratulate Trent on the team's first win of 2016.

Round 8

On ANZAC Day Trent kicked for John, who was a soldier who served in Papua New Guinea and South Vietnam.

John is the President of the TPI (Totally and Permanently Incapacitated) Association, Newcastle.

Round 10

18-year-old Christian played football up until three years ago when he had a stroke. Since then he has been receiving ongoing rehabilitative care and check ups.

Round 11

In Round 11 Trent kicked for 7-year-old Coen, who was stuck in hospital for six weeks after he broke his leg. Now out of hospital, Coen is going to come to a training session to meet Trent.

Round 12

Trent kicked for 10-year-old Lani against the Parramatta Eels. From Merewether, Lani has spent the last couple of months getting treatment in hospital. Lani and her two friends, Kiara and Vienna, have started a campaign on Facebook called 'The Fearless Sisters' that you can check out HERE.

Round 14

Against the Warriors Trent kicked for Miley, who was only six years old when she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. Since then she's overcome every challenge she's encountered. While she is still dealing with the effects of the disease and surgery, she maintains a positive outlook.

Round 16

In Round 16 Trent kicked for 6-year-old Archie, who has been an inpatient at John Hunter Hospital recently as he learns to live with Type 1 Diabetes. Look at that big smile!

Round 17

In the Round 17 match against the Canberra Raiders, Trent kicked for 17-year-old Jayden, who is receiving treatment for Burkitts Lymphoma.

Round 19

In Round 19 Trent kicked for 9-year-old Jyerell, who is being treated for Cystic Fibrosis at John Hunter Children's Hospital. It's great to see them both smiling, even though there's seven stitches in Trent's head!

Round 20

Round 22

In the Round 22 match against his old team the Bulldogs, Trent kicked for 14-year-old Stephanie from Narrabri.

Round 23

In Round 23 Trent kicked for 17-year-old Charlii, who is receiving treatment for bone cancer at John Hunter Children's Hospital.

Round 24

In the Round 24 match against the Titans, Trent kicked for 8-year-old Mitchell, who has recently been diagnosed with diabetes.
